Threatened and Endangered Plants & Animals

Three federally endangered species and several more federally threatened species are found within the Spring River Basin. The state of Missouri also lists struggling species into three categories: endangered, threatened, and “on watch”.   These lists include more species than the federal list because a species may not be struggling across its entire font-family: U.S. distribution.   See the tables below for plants and animals that are of conservational concern in the Spring River Basin. In these tables, the common name is given first, followed by the scientific name.
