Sac River Basin - Threatened Plants and Animals
hr1-g.gif (391 bytes)

The forty-two species of plants and animals listed below are species that the Missouri Department of Conservation recognizes as species of concern in the Sac River Watershed.  This list includes three federally endangered species (the gray bat, Missouri bladder-pod, and pink mucket) and five federally threatened species (bald eagle, Ozark cavefish, Niangua darter, Mead’s milkweed, and geocarpon). The state of Missouri has its own list of endangered and threatened species in the Sac River Watershed, which includes more species than the federal list. The table below includes these species and others found within the Sac River Basin.
