Sac River Basin - Climate

The Sac River Basin is within the temperate zone. An interesting feature of this zone is the changing seasons. The temperate zone consists of hot summers and cold winters, with an annual average temperature of about 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The average worldwide rainfall in the temperate zone is 30 to 60 inches per year, second only to tropical rainforests! In the Sac River Basin, the actual average rainfall is 40 inches, and the average temperature is 56.2 degrees Fahrenheit.
