hr1-g.gif (391 bytes)

There are many birds in the Sac River Basin. Some birds live along the river where they may eat fish or other animals inhabiting the water. Other birds stop along the water when they are migrating south in the winter and when they are traveling back to their homes in the spring. One well-known bird, the bald eagle, is found in the Sac River Basin, and is listed as threatened by the federal government and endangered by the state of Missouri.
