Estimating Soil Using RUSLE - Andrea King hr1-g.gif (391 bytes)

The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) is a tool to estimate the amount of soil erosion from water.  It is a modification of Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE).  The current version NRCS now uses is RUSLE2, a modification of RUSLE.  From this talk you will understand the basic principles in calculating soil loss using RUSLE and what impacts the producer has in preventing soil loss.  You will be able to calculate soil loss from a hay field and a crop field and see the difference between the two  You will understand the importance of preserving our most natural resource:  the soil
