In 2002, there were 190,000 acres of hay harvested from Missouri counties within the Elk River Basin. Hay was the only major crop grown in McDonald County, which covers a large part of the watershed. Map of hay production in Missouri. 

In 1999, Ottawa County, OK, produced 35,000 acres of hay, while Delaware County, OK, produced 26,000 acres of hay.

 


Soybeans
In 2002, about 3,400 acres of soybeans were harvested in counties within the Missouri portion of the Elk River Basin. However, McDonald County, MO, did not produce enough soybeans to be included in the soybean section of the 2002 Missouri Farm Facts. A map of soybean production in Missouri.

In 1999 Ottawa County, OK produced 25,000 acres of soybeans, while Delaware County produced 500 acres of soybeans.
